Dain Diaz Stoll, Program Director
Piccolo's Program Director, Dain Diaz Stoll, is a mom who loves teaching children. Dain is an accomplished musician, educator, and innovative early childhood program director of Piccolo Nido Preschool. She studied Early Childhood Development, holds a Bachelor of Music degree (cum laude) from the University of the Philippines, and earned a Master's in Music from San Francisco State University (SFSU). Her academic and musical achievements earned her a Philippine national arts scholarship, St. Scholastica’s Academy award for most outstanding in music, and Pone scholarship for graduate studies at SFSU. Dain has also undertaken graduate coursework in early childhood music education at Holy Names University. She is a member of Music Teachers Association of California and the Mu Phi Epsilon International
Music Honor Society. An experienced classroom teacher, Dain has been teaching piano for over 20 years. She has served as music director at St. Elizabeth in San Francisco. She was a faculty member at the University of the Philippines College of Music Extension Program and at the Community Music Center in San Francisco. She was part of an international delegation to Reggio Emilia, Italy. She used to work for the National Center for Youth Law, a non-profit organization advocating for abused and neglected children.
Duddley Diaz , Art Program Consultant
Duddley Diaz is an artist of international caliber. An acclaimed Filipino sculptor, his work is recounted in the book “The Art of Duddley Diaz” (Guillermo 2009). Duddley holds a BFA from the University of the Philippines and was an academic and art scholar of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. He was awarded a post-baccalaureate scholarship by the Italian government to study at the famed Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy, and he received a Freeman Full Fellowship Grant at Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont. Duddley, who lived in Italy for over 20 years, has received numerous awards including the Presidential Merit Award for excellence in the arts from the President of the Philippines. His works have been exhibited in Europe, the United States, and Asia. He has conducted art workshops for young schoolchildren and lectured in universities.
